Meet David

My name is David Daye, and I am running for the Peoria Public School Board, District 2 seat. I first came to Peoria at 18 to attend Bradley University, and today I am proud to teach there as an Instructor of Communication. I also work with students across the district as a mentor with the Peoria Role Model Project and serve my community as an associate minister at Restoration Life Church.

In my college classroom, I’ve seen the lasting impact of the pandemic on students. Many struggle with reading, comprehension, and critical thinking, and these trends are even more pronounced in our public schools, where too many students are reading below grade level and not ready for college or career pathways.

My faith teaches servant-leadership: you don’t just talk about problems, you take action. I’m running to get to work for our students. Because when our schools are strong, our community is strong.
